Chloe Photo WebIt's great to hear feedback from our Teachers and see that they are settling into our School Community well.

Miss Thompson has kindly taken the time to write us this great feedback.....

"From first stepping foot in Larkspur I knew I wanted to pursue my teaching career here. Since staring work at Larkspur the team here have been fantastic.

They have regularly provided me with help, support and access to plenty CPD and which has helped build my confidence in my teaching, and at tackling new challenges.

All teaching staff are willing to lend their time to help in any way possible. I feel grateful that I was given the opportunity to complete my NQT year within such a supportive network.

GLOWING TESTIMONIAL FROM NEWLY QUALIFIED TEACHER AT HADRIAN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Hadrian Primary School

As a newly qualified primary school teacher, I decided to enhance my practice through supply teaching. The Education Network have offered an exceptional education recruitment service and provided high quality employment advice and support.

With their considerable experience, working closely with schools and their knowledge of the educational sector they have provided great teaching opportunities. In my initial meeting with the agency I was met with warm, professional consultants who were eager to meet my teaching requirements. The agency has supported my professional development through offering opportunities to attend a variety of courses.

I was offered long term supply work at Hadrian Primary School, an outstanding school, where I have started my NQT year working in a year 1 class. The consistent support I have received has developed my understanding, skills and confidence in all areas of my professional practice. I have had the opportunity to be part of an effective team that ensures successful educational provision is achieved.

All staff respect and value the contributions of one another and ensure individual skills are fully utilised in supporting and developing the children in their care. With excellent support from other key stage 1 staff I have been able to explore creative approaches to teaching that challenge and inspire pupils. Hadrian Primary school is a warm and welcoming school where children enjoy their education and teachers are passionate about promoting high achievement, enabling children to fulfil their own potential. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in an inclusive, happy, caring environment where everyone is valued as an individual.

CHILDREN LEARN ON DAY OUT TO BOLDON ENVIRONMENT CENTRE

Monkton Infant School

BoldonReception children enjoyed a visit to Boldon Environment Centre.

The children planted seeds and observered features in the environment. West Boldon Lodge covers a huge 13 hectares of habitats as a centre and purpose built environmental education centre.

As well as education programmes for schools, adults and families, they also run community events and the children loved the experience of fun and learning.
The centre, constructed by National Grid, opened in August 2010 and is an Erlund House Log Cabin constructed from high quality Northern Pine logs grown in Finland.

The building is insulated using natural cellulose fibre insulation, made from recycled paper and also incorporates solar panels for heating water and wood burning stoves as supplementary heating.
