Supply Teachers Required!

The Education Network is rapidly growing! We have a dedicated office based at Swale House in Belmont Industrial Estate which looks after the Spennymoor Supply Teaching Partnership cluster of schools. We are specifically looking to recruit candidates who wish to work in and around the Spennymoor area, both for day to day and long term supply assignments.

We are currently looking for excellent EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Teachers to join our growing pool of supply staff. Applications from both NQT's and more experienced Teachers are welcomed.

In return you will receive excellent rates of pay and an opportunity to apply for one of our 'Guarantee Pay' contracts where we will reward your exclusive availability by paying you even on the days we are unable to find you work!

Candidates should have a good understanding of teaching and assessment within the Primary Phase (EYFS, KS1 and KS2). Candidates will be responsible for all aspects of classroom management, learning and teaching, and will need to plan a curriculum which will excite and motivate students to enjoy their education. Up-to-date curriculum knowledge is therefore a requirement.

 

The ideal teacher will:

  • Have QTS or an overseas equivalent
  • Posses strong behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Effectively communicate with students, staff and parents
  • Have good organisational and time management skills
  • Be able to plan and assess effectively

Teaching and Learning Support Staff vacancies

The Spennymoor Supply Teaching Partnership is currently looking to register L3 qualified Teaching Assistant and Learning Mentor staff who are available to work in and around the Spennymoor area.

We have a variety of roles available in this field including 1-2-1 support work, subject specific support such as running maths or literacy intervention groups, SEN support, and general classroom support.

 

The following essential criteria apply:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a Primary School which can be backed up by an employment reference
  • NVQ Level 2 in supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent). Level 3 would be desirable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents
  • Have good organisational and time management skills
  • Be reliable with good punctuality and attendance
  • Be a team player

 School Administrator

The Spennymoor Supply Teaching Partnership is currently recruiting for a School Administrator to join a small Primary school on an ongoing temporary basis.

The following essential criteria apply:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months school office experience which can be backed up by an employment reference
  • A working-knowledge of school IT packages such as SIMS.net
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff and parents
  • An appreciation for the need for confidentiality
  • Have good organisational and time management skills
  • Be reliable with good punctuality and attendance
  • Be a team player

Read Write Inc. Teaching Assistant

Required from January 2015, initially for one term but with the possibility of an extension depending upon school budget, Spennymoor Supply Teaching Partnership is working with the Head Teacher and Governors of an outstanding Primary School in Spennymoor to appoint a Teaching Assistant with experience of working within the Read Write Inc framework.

This post will involve supporting children’s learning across the whole school, and will include working with individuals or groups in the class, leading small intervention groups and a overseeing a Read Write Inc. group.

Applicants should possess at least NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning (or equivalent) and have appropriate knowledge of the National Curriculum.

Experience in the use of literacy and numeracy intervention programmes, and supporting individuals with SEN is essential for this role, as is knowledge and understanding of Read Write Inc  as this is used across the school. Ruth Miskin accredited Read Write Inc training is desirable but not essential.

Guarantee Supply Teacher Contract

As part of this commitment we are seeking flexible, hard working and passionate teachers to work on one of our Guaranteed Pay Schemes on an ongoing basis for the rest of this academic year.

Most days you will have work booked and agreed in advance, but there may be some occasions where we receive a last minute request and you are required to go out to work at short notice.  If there is ever a day where we don't have a booking for you, you will have that day off but still get paid.

You will understand that we can only offer this guarantee contract to teachers in the region who are committed to raising the standards of education and have good/outstanding references.

 

In addition you must have:

  • A desire to work on both short and/or long term assignments through our contract, and a willingness and ability to undertake planning, assessment and delivery of good lessons
  • An up to date knowledge of the respective areas in which you are a specialist (subject or Key Stage)
  • A certain flexibility to where you will travel and which schools you will work, which will be discussed at registration

 

In return, the benefits you will receive include:

  • An agreed number of days teaching work every week. This can be part time or full time depending on your personal requirements and will be agreed at registration.
  • Daily assignments with the view to finding you long term or permanent posts if this is what you require.
  • If for what ever reason we do not find you work will pay you anyway.
  • Highest rates of pay in the region, if you can find a better pay rate anywhere else we will match it.
  • If you find an alternative job you can exit the contract giving 7 days notice.
  • This is an on going contract, for the period of the school year.
